Electrochemistry Research for Materials’ Corrosion, Mitigation and Protection in Industrial Applications and Energy Systems

Dear Colleagues,

This Special Issue on electrochemistry research in materials’ corrosion and protection collates novel and original research articles and review articles that contribute to developments in the deployment of electrochemistry techniques and methods in our understanding of materials’ corrosion and degradation in a wide range of industrial applications and energy systems. This Special Issue also welcomes research and review articles focused on the innovative application of electrochemical methods and techniques in the development of translatable mitigation and protection strategies against materials’ corrosion and degradation across all demanding industrial applications and energy systems. As such, this Special Issue covers the following research topics:

• Corrosion mechanisms and/or control in energy and electrochemically aggressive environments;
• The development of corrosion-resistant materials and methods;
• Testing and monitoring technology for materials’ corrosion and overall degradation;
• Electrochemistry-inspired corrosion mitigation;
• Functional assessment of corrosion behaviour and resilience of material and coating interface.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Processes is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
