Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Graphene-based polymer composites are widely used in human life, industry, and energy engineering due to their excellent properties, such as low density, high stiffness, and strength. It is widely recognized that the key to maximizing the benefits of graphene-based polymer composites is dependent on the controllable processing technology and comprehensive understanding of their mechanical properties in various application fields.

In this Special Issue of Polymers, an open-access forum is provided for the publication of original research papers and high-quality review articles on graphene-based polymer composites. The following aspects of the science and engineering of graphene-based polymer composites are of particular interest:

  • Original studies that relate to the understanding of mechanical, thermal, electrical, acoustic, and magnetic properties of graphene-based polymer composites (experimental, theoretical, and/or computational modelling research will be considered).
  • New insights into the mechanisms involved in the processing and fabrication of graphene-based polymer composites and how they relate to their overall mechanical properties. These insights can be obtained through various forms of analysis, such as mechanical deformation, fracture, structural vibration, and nonlinear dynamics analysis, among many others.
  • Advanced techniques for the structural characterization and modification of graphene-based polymer composites during manufacturing and/or fabrication processes.
  • Application of graphene-based polymer composites in aerospace, biomedical, civil, mechanical engineering, etc.
  • Other relevant studies on polymer composites of other allotropes of carbon (e.g., nanotubes, fullerenes, graphite, and diamond) that are of interest to our broad readership will also be considered.

Authors who are unsure of whether their manuscript fits the scope of this Special Issue are encouraged to send their article title and abstract to the Guest Editors for swift consideration.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Polymers is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2700 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
