Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Fruit tree germplasm resources serve as a crucial material foundation for technological innovation in fruit research and the modern fruit tree industry. The level of safety protection and precise identification capabilities for fruit tree germplasm resources have been significantly enhanced, resulting in numerous new breakthrough germplasm. These germplasm resources provide strong support for the high-level development of the fruit tree industry. In the face of global climate change and the global trade landscape, it is urgent to strengthen the protection, precise evaluation and innovative utilization of fruit tree germplasm resources, thereby cultivating diversified new varieties that meet different needs and markets.

This Topic aims to bring together studies on the latest developments in fruit germplasm resources and innovation, including the collection and preservation, origin and domestication, diversity of germplasm resources, phenotypic identification and evaluation, genotypic identification and evaluation, innovative utilization of germplasm, genetics, gene editing technologies and marker-assisted selection.
