Travel Award

The Photonics Travel Award was launched in 2024, and it is presented every year to encourage junior scientists to present their latest research at academic conferences in the field of optics and photonics, which helps to grow their profile. Applications will be open from September 2024 to March 2025, and the winners will announced by the end of April 2025.

– CHF 600;
– A certificate.

Eligibility and Requirements

– Postdoctoral fellows or PhD students;
– Plans to attend an international conference between 1 May 2025 and 31 December 2025 (oral presentation or poster).

List of Documents for Application

– Information of the conference the applicant is planning to attend and the abstract that will be submitted;
– Applicant’s curriculum vitae and a list of publications;
– Justification letter describing the focus of the applicant’s research (max. 800 words);
– Letter of recommendation from the applicant’s supervisor, research director, or department head that also confirms the applicant’s status as a postdoctoral fellow or PhD student.
