Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Adequate maternal nutrition is essential for maintaining maternal health, supporting fetal development, and promoting long-term well-being. Optimal intake of energy, macronutrients, and micronutrients before and during pregnancy is crucial for maintaining maternal health, supporting placental function, and ensuring proper fetal growth and development. Nutritional status directly affects gestational weight gain, maternal metabolic adaptation, and pregnancy course, thereby influencing birth weight, preterm birth risk, and neonatal well-being.
This Special Issue aims to highlight recent advances in understanding how maternal dietary patterns, nutrient status, and targeted nutritional interventions influence pregnancy and neonatal outcomes. The topic bridges nutrition science, obstetrics, perinatal medicine, and neonatology, fostering interdisciplinary research that translates scientific insights into clinical and public health practice.
Both original research articles and reviews are welcome. Research areas may include, but are not limited to, the following topics:
- Micronutrient supplementation in pregnancy;
- Nutrition in low- and high-risk pregnancies;
- Maternal diet and fetal programming;
- Nutritional interventions and birth/neonatal outcomes;
- Personalized nutrition and maternal–fetal heatal outcomes;
- Role of gut microbiota and maternal metabolism in pregnancy outcomes;
We look forward to receiving your valuable contributions to advance knowledge in this critical field.
