Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Food allergy is an important public health problem. On the basis of numerous studies, it affects nearly 5% of adults and 8% of children, with growing evidence of an increase in prevalence in recent decades.

The aim of this specific topic is to build a community of authors and readers to discuss the latest research and develop new ideas and research directions on nutritional intervention for food allergy diseases.

Current update summarizes food allergy, its symptoms, diagnosis and treatment and the problems derived from cross-reactivity between different food proteins — this includes future therapeutic news, as well as the common patient questions and their possible answers. The management of food allergy relies heavily on avoidance and emergency preparedness, and recent studies, guidelines, and resources provide insight into improving the safety and well-being of patients and their families. This Special Issue addresses ongoing nutritional interventions for allergic diseases with the aim of elucidating improved prevention, diagnosis and treatment.
