Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Neurological complications frequently arise in pediatric patients with acute and chronic diseases that affect other organ systems. These manifestations may stem from direct disease involvement, secondary effects of systemic inflammation, metabolic imbalances, immune-mediated responses, or treatment-related complications. Despite their significant impact on prognosis and quality of life, the neurological aspects of systemic pediatric diseases are often underrecognized and insufficiently studied. This Special Issue aims to explore the intricate relationship between systemic diseases and neurological dysfunction in pediatric patients. We welcome original research articles, reviews, and case reports that cover a wide range of conditions, including metabolic, autoimmune, infectious, oncological, and cardiovascular disorders with neurological sequelae. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, neuroinflammatory complications, seizure disorders, cerebrovascular events, peripheral neuropathies, cognitive and behavioral impairments, and the effects of systemic therapies on the developing nervous system. By garnering multidisciplinary insights from neurology, pediatrics, genetics, and immunology, this Special Issue seeks to advance our understanding of the pathophysiological mechanisms, diagnostic challenges, and therapeutic strategies in this complex field. We encourage the submission of papers that offer novel perspectives on early detection, risk stratification, and innovative treatment approaches to improve neurological outcomes in affected children.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website.
