Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Gas sensors play an indispensable role in environmental monitoring, industrial safety, medical diagnosis, food quality control and homeland security. Conventional gas sensors are limited by low sensitivity, poor selectivity and slow response, failing to meet the growing demand for rapid, accurate and trace-level gas detection. Nanoscale materials, with their unique structural and electronic properties, have revolutionized gas sensing technology, enabling significant improvements in sensing performance and device miniaturization.

This Special Issue aims to showcase the latest research advances in the applications of nanoscale materials in gas sensors. We invite original research and review articles focusing on nanomaterial design, sensing mechanism exploration, device fabrication and practical applications. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  1. Functional nanomaterials (low-dimensional, composite, etc.) for gas sensing;
  2. Design and optimization of nanomaterial-based gas sensors;
  3. Sensing mechanisms of nanoscale materials in gas detection;
  4. Gas sensors for environmental and industrial monitoring;
  5. Medical gas detection (including exhaled breath analysis);
  6. Portable, flexible and intelligent nano gas sensing devices.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. Nanomaterials is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
