Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

In the current era of modern medicinal and pharmaceutical product development, the raw material/ bioactive ingredients from natural sources (e.g., plants, marine materials) are becoming increasingly favored by customers worldwide. Flavonoids and other polyphenols are some of the most popular bioactive molecules, with a significant number of medicinal and pharmaceutical benefits, including anti-aging, anti-oxidant, anti-oxidative stress, anti-cancer, anti-inflammation, and anti-diabetic effects, among other pharmacological features that have been studied in both academic research institutes and industrial sectors. The discovery of pharmaceutical and medicinal potentials from plant flavonoids and other polyphenols offers a selection of bioactive molecules from nature for medicinal and phytopharmaceutical product development to promote human health and well-being in cosmetics, cosmeceuticals, nutricosmetics, superfoods, and many other medicinal and phytopharmaceutical products.

This Special Issue welcomes potential authors to share their discoveries of the medicinal and pharmaceutical potentials of plant flavonoids and other polyphenols in the form of original articles and reviews. Research works on in silico, in vitro, in cellulo, and in vivo biological/phytopharmacological activities. Furthermore, we welcome research on innovative and green extraction methodologies, including method development and validation for the separation, identification, and quantification of these flavonoids and other polyphenols/bioactive molecules, with the aim of enhancing their medicinal and pharmaceutical potential.

We are looking forward to sharing your meaningful contributions.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Molecules is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2700 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
