“The review process represents the key element that guarantees the quality of the published research. It is based on two interconnected pillars: the choice of the reviewers and the accuracy of the revision. The former relies on the ability of the journal to select competent reviewers, and the latter on scientific rigor but also the intellectual honesty of the reviewer in the revision work.
The first aspect that, as reviewer, I evaluate is the overall quality of the submitted research, in terms of consecutio logica, clarity and rigor of the reported results. Then, I check each single part of the work, providing deep insight into the parts of my specific competence where I can be more incisive and effective.
