Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
The digital and environmental transformations reshaping global supply chains have far-reaching implications for financial performance, investment strategies, and risk governance. The progression from Supply Chain 4.0 to 5.0, 6.0, and beyond reflects a broader shift towards data-driven, technology-enabled value networks powered by Artificial Intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), blockchain, big data analytics, and cloud computing. These technologies are redefining how supply chains generate, protect, and measure financial value while navigating volatility, sustainability pressures, and geopolitical risks.
Suggested Themes:
- Financial performance implications of AI-enabled supply chain forecasting and planning;
- Blockchain for financial risk mitigation, smart contracts, and supply chain finance;
- IoT and big data analytics for cost control, working capital optimisation, and real-time risk monitoring;
- Technological enablers of circular economy models and their financial viability;
- Cloud-based systems for supply chain cost modelling and operational efficiency;
- Risk analytics, scenario planning, and resilience metrics in financially integrated global supply chains;
- Human–machine collaboration and its impact on productivity, labour cost structures, and investment risk;
- Cybersecurity, digital ethics, and financial reporting of ESG risks in technology-driven supply chains;
- Fintech and digital trade finance innovations for resilient and sustainable sourcing.
We welcome both theoretical and empirical contributions, as well as case studies and interdisciplinary approaches. Submissions from conference participants and beyond are encouraged.
We look forward to receiving your contributions.
