Personalized Medicine in Geriatrics and Gerontology: Prevention, Treatment and Multidisciplinary Research

Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Geriatrics and geriatric medicine is a branch of medicine that focuses on the study and care of elderly patients. The study of geriatrics helps improve the health of the elderly, prevent the occurrence of diseases, and thus delay the aging process. With the acceleration of the aging process of the global population, the proportion of the elderly population has increased. The traditional medical model struggles to meet the complex needs of the elderly population, such as insufficient clinical research on the elderly and imperfect social support and care systems. With the development of the era of personalized medicine, the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and management of geriatrics are also constantly developing. Through the progress of genomics, artificial intelligence and big data, individual differences in elderly patients can be identified, so that targeted treatment and care plans can be formulated.

This Special Issue aims to promote the attention of the academic and medical community to the health issues of the elderly, promote the study of geriatrics in the era of personalized medicine, and ultimately improve the quality of life and healthy life expectancy of the elderly.

We welcome scholars to submit review articles and original research articles related to geriatrics and personalized medicine.
