Dear Colleagues,

We are pleased to invite you to contribute to our Special Issue entitled “The Future of Personalized Orthodontics,” which will be published in the MDPI journal Journal of Personalized Medicine (Q1).

This Special Issue is dedicated to exploring the innovative research, technologies, and clinical innovations that are shaping the future of individualized orthodontic care. As the orthodontic field continues to evolve, personalized treatment approaches are becoming essential for achieving optimal functional and aesthetic outcomes that are tailored to each patient's unique needs. 

The scope of this Special Issue includes, but is not limited to, the following topics:

  • Artificial intelligence in diagnosis and treatment planning;
  • Customized clear aligner therapy and digital orthodontics;
  • Advances in skeletal anchorage systems;
  • 3D imaging, CBCT, and their role in precision orthodontics;
  • Surgery-first and interdisciplinary treatment strategies;
  • Personalized biomechanics and force systems;
  • Innovations in orthodontic materials and oral devices;
  • Integration of genetic, myofunctional, and epigenetic data in treatment planning;
  • TMJ management within the personalized care model.

This Special Issue aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the recent scientific and clinical advances that are redefining the standards of modern orthodontics through personalization and innovation.

We therefore look forward to receiving contributions that advance this field.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Journal of Personalized Medicine is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
