Dear Colleagues,
Postharvest fungal diseases represent a critical threat to global food security, inducing severe economic losses and limiting the shelf life of agricultural commodities. Although historically managed via synthetic fungicides, the emergence of resistant pathogen strains alongside escalating environmental and toxicological concerns has driven the search for sustainable alternatives. This Special Issue compiles recent scientific advancements in postharvest antifungal strategies, categorizing them into physical, biological, and eco-friendly chemical approaches—such as Generally Recognized as Safe (GRAS) compounds. Furthermore, contributions exploring novel technologies are highly encouraged. These include RNA interference (RNAi), nanotechnology-based delivery systems to enhance volatile compound stability, and the use of elicitors to prime host immune responses. It is well established that the integration of these multifaceted, eco-friendly strategies—formulating Integrated Pest Management (IPM) protocols—constitutes the most promising paradigm to secure food supply chains while minimizing ecological footprints. Therefore, this Special Issue aims to provide the scientific community with a comprehensive update on the latest breakthroughs and future trends in the field.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process.
