Dear Colleagues,
Numerical modeling and prediction of ship maneuvering and hydrodynamics have always been the core of marine engineering research, directly determining the safety, economy, and operational efficiency of ships. With the rapid development of autonomous shipping and green maritime transportation, there is an increasing demand for high-precision, efficient, and robust numerical methods to address complex problems, such as maneuvering in shallow, restricted waters, wave-induced maneuvering motions, fluid–structure interaction, and sloshing effects. This Special Issue aims to bring together cutting-edge research on numerical modeling, simulation techniques, and prediction methodologies for ship maneuvering and hydrodynamics, covering, but not limited to, CFD-based simulations, system identification methods, data-driven and machine learning models, validation with model tests or full-scale trials, and applications in real engineering scenarios. The objective is to provide a platform for researchers and engineers to share their latest findings, exchange ideas, and advance the development of cutting-edge numerical tools for safer and more efficient marine operations. We welcome original research articles, review papers, and technical communications that promote the latest developments and progress in this field.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. Journal of Marine Science and Engineering is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
