The 15th International Conference of the International Society for Low Vision Research and Rehabilitation (ISLRR)
The 15th International Conference of the International Society for Low Vision Research and Rehabilitation (ISLRR) will be held on 8–12 September, 2025 and will be hosted by three top Italian organizations in low vision research, including the Low Vision Academy, PRISMA (Professionals for Low Vision Rehabilitation and Associated Diseases), and the National Center for Services and Research for the Prevention of Blindness and Rehabilitation of the Visually Impaired.
The conference is a great chance for professionals from different fields (ophthalmologists, orthoptists, optometrists, opticians, psychologists, geneticists, pharmacologists, medical students, etc.) to share their progress, ideas, and innovations in dealing with visual impairments worldwide.
The conference consists of the following clusters of themes, using a new approach for visual rehabilitation:
1. Improving fixation stability.
2. Improving cell living conditions.
3. Advanced diagnostics.
4. Gene therapy.
5. Digital revolution applied to visual rehabilitation.
6. Artificial intelligence.
7. New devices.
The goal of Vision 2025 is to introduce a broader, more comprehensive approach to the low vision issue.
