Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

In recent years, shoulder arthroplasty has become a cornerstone in the treatment of complex shoulder conditions, offering reliable solutions for patients affected by severe osteoarthritis, complex proximal humeral fractures, and failed previous implants. This Special Issue is dedicated to exploring the current state and future perspectives of shoulder prosthetic surgery, with a particular focus on reverse shoulder arthroplasty in complex cases, both as primary implantation and revision procedures.

Special attention will be given to the management of humeral and glenoid bone defects, the surgical techniques used to address these complications, and the decision-making process in such demanding cases. The issue will also explore implant selection in difficult anatomical scenarios, clinical outcomes, complication management, and strategies for optimizing results in revision surgery.

This Special Issue aims to provide shoulder surgeons and orthopedic specialists with comprehensive insights into the indications, challenges, techniques, and outcomes of complex reverse shoulder arthroplasty, fostering the exchange of experience and evidence in this rapidly evolving field.
