Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Non-ischemic dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) is a complex clinical phenotype, often genetic, affecting young patients with theoretically a long life expectancy. Although advancements in the diagnosis and management of DCM have contributed to a significant improvement of long-term prognosis, DCM is one of the most common causes of heart transplantation in the Western world. Clinical management is still challenging. Dark areas that prevent a more accurate diagnosis, the role of advanced and integrated imaging, specific treatments, uninterrupted follow-up, and continuous reclassification of the disease are yet to be explored.

The aim of this Special Issue is to gather the most recent novelties in the field, from early diagnosis to genetics, advanced imaging, and controversies in management. This will shed light on these unveiled conundrums, improving patients’ characterization and ultimately long-term survival and better quality of life.
