Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Neurological disorders represent one of the most challenging frontiers in medicine, often characterized by complex pathogenesis, a lack of effective treatments, and the inaccessibility of living human neural tissue for study. The advent of stem cell technologies has revolutionized our approach to these diseases. This Special Issue, titled "Research on Stem Cells in Neurological Disorders: Disease Modeling and Therapy," aims to capture the cutting-edge advancements at the intersection of stem cell biology and neuroscience.
The primary goal is to provide a platform for research that utilizes stem cells to create accurate in vitro and in vivo models of neurological diseases, thereby unraveling their molecular mechanisms. Furthermore, we seek to highlight exciting work focused on translating these insights into novel therapeutic strategies, including cell replacement, drug discovery, and regenerative medicine. By bringing together original research articles and comprehensive reviews, this issue will showcase how stem cells are bridging the critical gap between basic molecular discovery and clinical application, offering new hope for patients affected by these debilitating conditions.
We invite the submission of original research articles and reviews that align with the theme of this Special Issue. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Disease Modeling using Stem Cells;
- Neural Stem Cell Biology;
- Stem Cell-Based Therapy and Drug Discovery;
- Technological Innovations and Translational Challenges.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. International Journal of Molecular Sciences is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. There is an Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal. For details about the APC please see here. Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
