Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

We are pleased to announce the Special Issue “Statistical Methods for Global Health and Epidemiology”. The experience of the pandemic has shown the importance of promptly collecting and analyzing data to have reliable information that leads to evidence-based decisions. In addition, we have learned that national borders are not a limit to the transmission of infectious diseases, and the epidemiology of diseases became a global challenge. This is also true for chronic diseases, because in globalization settings we see a homogeneous distribution of risk factors and disease determinants; an example is the environmental risks related to climate change, industry, and the habits of populations. The interchange of information, methods, and strategies should be the strategy with which to face the challenges of health and wellbeing in the future. In light of this, those that work in health systems need evidence based on solid and reliable methodologies, and these could be provided by evolutions in information technology, the availability of more relevant designs of studies, and the development of methodologies that support artificial intelligence and machine learning in health research.

This Special Issue is, therefore, an opportunity to discuss innovative methods and related results, and we invite authors to submit papers that deal with statistical methods, designs of studies, environmental risks, infectious diseases, and chronic diseases.

All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2500 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
