Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Nutritional awareness is expanding in the last decades to make emphasize a more rational and balanced diet. In fact, what we eat and how we eat is the foundation for our health. The growing body of literature suggests nutrition plays a role not only in physical functioning but also in neurophysiology and mental health. Specific nutrients may affect the function of selected cells or particular brain areas, but also the whole dietary pattern may benefit neuropsychiatric outcomes in health and disease.

This Special Issue aims to bring together the latest advances in nutrition and neuroscience, to underline the importance of these disciplines and thus to further promote nutritional awareness for mental well-being. High-quality basic, pre-clinical and clinical research manuscripts attempting to resolve the issue of nutritional impact on mental health functioning and related markers are welcome; review papers are also invited.
