Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
The widespread adoption of information and communication technologies (ICT) has reshaped work practices, particularly in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Remote and hybrid work models have revolutionized communication and collaboration processes, introducing the concept of virtuality as a central element of modern workplaces. While these models offer significant advantages—such as increased flexibility, enhanced efficiency, and cost savings—they also present challenges. Among these, technostress has emerged as a critical issue, arising from factors such as cognitive overload, social isolation, and difficulties in maintaining a healthy work–life balance. Additionally, the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in workplace processes raises important concerns. Organizations exhibit varying levels of innovation and introduction of AI-based tools for internal collaboration, with employees responding differently based on their attitudes, their perceptions of AI's characteristics, their previous experiences, or their sense of control over its use. In this perspective, identifying the key factors that most significantly influence the adoption of technology at work is essential for developing strategies that ensure successful and effective implementation.
This Special Issue hosts contributions dealing with the integration of technologies for collaboration, communication, and co-creation in the workplace, exploring attitudes, perceived benefits, and challenges. We welcome studies that employ both qualitative and quantitative research approaches, as well as reviews offering theoretical advancements with practical insights.
