Fermentation Receives an Increased CiteScore of 5.7


We are delighted to announce that Fermentation (ISSN: 2311-5637) has achieved a 2024 CiteScore of 5.7, marking a significant 50% increase from the previous year and continuing its trend of consecutive annual growth for two years. Fermentation now stands in the Q1 quartile, within the “Plant Science” category, ranking #101 out of 534 journals (top 19%), and in the “Biochemistry, Genetics and Molecular Biology (miscellaneous)” category, ranking #27 out of 125 journals (top 22%), an impressive achievement for a journal currently on Volume 11.

The current CiteScore measures the average number of citations within a journal over a four-year window (2021–2024). The Scopus database provides a comprehensive suite of metrics that support informed publishing strategies and research evaluation and enable the benchmarking of journal performance.

This achievement reflects the collective efforts of our authors, reviewers, and editors. Together, we will continue to track the progress of Fermentation and its growing impact in all research areas of fermentation related to new and emerging products, processes, and technologies, including biopharmaceuticals and biotech drugs.
