Studies on computer and communications have contributed largely to the progress of core technologies to solve a variety of social issues, such as a declining birthrate and a growing proportion of elderly people, energy depletion, serious natural disasters, and pandemics of infections. Along with a reduction in size and weight of high-performance computers and popularization of high-speed and broadband networks, various kinds of promising applications have been realized via research and development of wireless communication technology (e.g., antennas, MIMO, 5G, cellular systems, ad hoc networks, and radio access networks), image processing techniques (e.g., pattern recognition, and object identification and retrieval), security-related techniques (e.g., encryption and blockchain), Internet technology (e.g., network measurement, analysis, and prediction, routing, and protocols), and photonic technology, as well as basic theories of algorithms, signal processing, and modulation and coding schemes. Further, smart energy technology such as energy harvesting and smart grids are included in the research and development areas, and use of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) and robots can support the large enhancement of systems and networks. In recent years, studies have enormously promoted the Internet of Things (IoT) handling huge information from various sensors, big data, cloud/fog/edge computing, and artificial intelligence (AI) such as machine learning, deep learning, and reinforcement learning. It is anticipated that this promotion will lead to the realization of beyond 5G/6G, all photonics networks (AFN), cyberphysical systems, and so on. This Special Issue invites submissions on, but not limited to, the above research areas.
The International Conference on Computer and Communications (ICCC) was established in 2015. It is organized by the Sichuan Institute of Electronics, sponsored by IEEE, and supported by Southwest Jiaotong University, Sichuan University, etc. It is held in Chengdu annually, where more than 500 attendees from 12 countries all around the world take part. ICCC 2021 will be held in Chengdu, China once again on 10–13 December 2021. On behalf of the Organizing Committee, we warmly invite computer and communications scientists, engineers or technicians, graduate students, and all those simply interested in the technique to take part in this unique and innovative conference with your enthusiasm to develop and your willingness to mature computer and communications techniques and their applications.
We encourage authors who present an article at the 2021 IEEE 7th International Conference on Computer and Communications (ICCC) and who feel that their contribution is within the scope of interest of the journal Entropy to submit an original and essential extension of the ICCC paper to be considered for publication.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All papers will be peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Entropy is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 1800 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
