Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

The rapid expansion of wind energy systems has increased the demand for advanced control strategies capable of ensuring high performance, reliability and power quality under varying operating conditions. Multi-rotor wind turbine technologies have emerged as promising solutions for enhancing energy capture efficiency, operational flexibility and system resilience in modern renewable energy applications. However, their complex dynamics require innovative nonlinear control methods and intelligent algorithms to achieve optimal performance and stable grid integration.

This Special Issue focuses on recent advances in nonlinear control, smart optimization algorithms and intelligent monitoring techniques applied to wind energy systems. Topics of interest include adaptive and robust control, artificial intelligence and machine learning applications, fault-tolerant control, predictive algorithms and real-time energy management strategies. Particular attention is given to power quality enhancement, including harmonic mitigation, voltage regulation, frequency stability and grid synchronization.

The Special Issue aims to provide a platform for researchers and industry experts to present innovative solutions that improve the efficiency, reliability and sustainability of next-generation wind energy systems while supporting the transition toward cleaner and smarter power networks.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. Energies is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
