Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

The integration of energy storage systems has proven to be a promising solution in the field of distributed generation and power distribution networks, providing energy backup and significantly improving power quality. Therefore, we are pleased to announce a call for contributions to the Special Issue entitled “Integration Within the Power Distribution Networks of the Distributed Generation and Storage Technologies.” This Special Issue seeks to collate the most significant advances in energy management and the integration of distributed generation and storage technologies within electrical distribution networks.

The objective is to highlight innovative research addressing the following thematic areas:

  • Energy storage systems: Advanced batteries, redox flow technologies, and hybrid solutions.
  • Artificial intelligence and predictive models applied to the optimization microgrid operation and planning.
  • Robust control and management strategies aimed at improving the stability and resilience of networks.
  • Power quality: Methodologies and systems to mitigate disturbances and ensure reliability.
  • Electric vehicles in the grid: Integration, impact on demand, and smart management solutions.

We invite researchers, professionals, and academics to submit original articles presenting research results, case studies, critical reviews, or methodological proposals that contribute to the development of more sustainable, smart, and resilient electricity grids.

This Special Issue will be a platform for sharing experiences, discussing challenges, and proposing solutions that drive the energy transition toward more efficient and environmentally friendly systems.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Energies is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2600 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
