The International Energy Conference 2026
To address the global challenges of energy transition and climate change and to promote low-carbon development as well as the coordinated utilization of fossil and non-fossil energy, the First International Energy Conference (IEC 2026) will be held from July 27–31, 2026, at the University of Regina, Regina, SK, Canada.
With the theme “Energize the World”, the conference aims to bring together experts, scholars, researchers, and policymakers from around the globe to discuss critical issues such as Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR), Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage (CCUS), energy transition, and multi-energy integration. The conference seeks to foster interdisciplinary collaboration and technological innovation toward building a clean, efficient, and sustainable energy future.
Located in Regina, the capital city of Saskatchewan, Canada, the region enjoys moderate summer temperatures, abundant sunshine, and a pleasant climate with beautiful surroundings. Regina and its surrounding areas are internationally recognized for their leadership in carbon dioxide storage and enhanced oil recovery (EOR). The world-renowned Weyburn CO2-EOR and storage project and the PTRC Aquistore project, both situated within 250 km of Regina, serve as key global demonstration sites for CCUS technologies.
Saskatchewan also possesses abundant non-fossil energy resources. Its flat terrain offers high wind energy potential, and its ample solar radiation makes it one of the most favorable regions in Canada for solar energy development. Moreover, the province hosts the world’s largest uranium reserves, providing a strong foundation for the advancement of nuclear energy and small modular reactor (SMR) technologies.
