Recent advancements in drone technology are revolutionizing urban mobility, providing innovative solutions for the transportation of passengers and goods. Both aerial and terrestrial drones are driving the evolution of urban mobility systems by addressing critical challenges like traffic congestion, delivery efficiency, and safety in urban environments.

This section focuses on the development, deployment, and integration of drones into urban transportation systems and urban mobility ecosystems. Key areas include the design, modeling, and optimization of airspace and ground operations; the development of automated services for flight planning, coordination, and flow management; advanced drone navigation and communication; risk management strategies tailored to drone operations; and the multimodal integration of drones into urban transportation systems, where drones complement or replace existing methods of delivery and mobility.

Beyond aerial drones, this section also welcomes research relating to terrestrial drones and specialized mobility scenarios, such as autonomous driving in logistics operations. Submissions should address the integration of drones into multimodal transportation systems, highlighting their potential to sustainably and safely transform urban mobility.

Submissions should focus primarily on drones—whether aerial (such as unmanned aerial vehicles or UAVs) or terrestrial (including unmanned ground vehicles or UGVs)—and their application in urban mobility. Manuscripts that broadly address urban air mobility (UAM) concepts without a significant focus on drones will not align with the section's scope.

This section seeks state-of-the-art research that explores novel drone technologies, challenges, solutions, and interdisciplinary approaches to creating sustainable, integrated, and efficient urban drone mobility systems.
