Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

We are pleased to invite you to submit your valuable research regarding the Special Issue topic.

Infectious diseases present a significant burden on public health and the economic stability of societies all over the world. For centuries, they have been among the leading causes of death and disability worldwide and have presented growing challenges to health security and human progress. In recent decades, remarkable new infectious agents affecting humans have emerged, a number of which are neglected or zoonotic, so finding their diagnostic approaches unavoidably become delayed. Constant awareness and pursuance of effective strategies for diagnosing infectious diseases remain crucial. Currently, various diagnostic methods have been developed for ENIDs, but a great challenge is efficiency, user-friendliness and high accuracy. In this direction, diagnostic challenges and solutions to overcome them are necessary and fundamental.

This Special Issue aims to focus on the diagnostic pitfalls of emerging and neglected infectious diseases (ENIDs) and highlight the approaches to overcome these challenges.

In this Special Issue, original research articles and reviews are welcome. Research areas may include (but are not limited to) the following topics listed in the keywords.

We look forward to receiving your contributions.
