Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Sorption is considered one of the most efficient techniques for water and wastewater treatment. Different types of anorganic and biological sorbents are used for this purpose. In recent years, special attention has been paid to hybrid sorbents (organic–anorganic and nano-microbial sorbents). The basic requirements to be met for a sorbent are a high removal eficiency, ecological safety, possibility of multipliple uses, and resistance to aggressive substances.
This Special Issue, titled "Synthesis, Characterization, and Applications of Biosorbents”, aims to provide the scientific community with achievements in the following topics:
- Production of biological sorbents from raw materials
- Production of nano-based biosorbents
- Develepment of the procedure of improving the sorption charactetistics of already widely used biosorbents
- Application of biosorbents for industrial wastewater treatment
- Application of biosorbents for domestic wastewater treatment

All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Coatings is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
