Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Minimally invasive surgery (MIS) has transformed pediatric surgical practice, evolving over the past decades from conventional laparoscopy to advanced robotic and image-guided techniques. These innovations have improved precision, reduced trauma, and enhanced recovery, offering children safer and more effective surgical options.

The aim of this Special Issue is to showcase recent advances and future directions in pediatric MIS, covering technological developments, refined surgical approaches, and multidisciplinary integration. We particularly welcome contributions exploring robotic-assisted and single-incision surgery, novel endoscopic techniques, intraoperative imaging, simulation and training, as well as outcome and safety analyses.

We invite original research articles, clinical studies, and comprehensive reviews that present cutting-edge insights into the evolving landscape of pediatric minimally invasive surgery and its impact on the next generation of surgical care.

Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process.
