Dear Colleagues,
This Special Issue in Cells focuses on immune cell signaling networks that connect surface receptors to second messengers and gene programs controlling host defense and regulation. We welcome mechanistic studies on pattern-recognition, cytokine/chemokine, GPCR, and antigen receptor systems; intracellular cascades including JAK–STAT, NF-κB, MAPK, IRF, PI3K–AKT–mTOR, cGAS–STING, Ca2+/cAMP, and transcriptional/epigenetic outputs. Priority topics include signal integration and plasticity, immune synapse dynamics, tolerance and exhaustion, spatiotemporal control of signaling, and cell–cell communication across innate and adaptive compartments. We encourage single-cell and spatial approaches, phospho-proteomics, live-cell imaging/biosensors, CRISPR perturbations, and computational network modeling in contexts such as infection, aging, autoimmunity, vaccination, and tumor immunity. Submissions should demonstrate mechanistic insight and, where possible, point to biomarkers or therapeutic entry points.

Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Cells is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
