Dear Colleagues,
With the growing demand for sustainable, human-centered, and resilient built environments, integrating spatial analysis and user-oriented approaches in architecture and urban design is increasingly important for improving the performance and quality of buildings and urban spaces. Recent advances in research tools for qualitative and quantitative surveys have provided new opportunities to contribute findings on spatial configurations, user perceptions, and environmental performance. In particular, the application of new technological approaches is considered an effective way to address novel challenges in present and future sustainable architecture and urban design.
This Special Issue aims to provide a platform for recent research on sustainable architecture and urban design, focusing on the relationship among spatial analysis, user experience, building performance, and decent design strategies. Topics of interest may include, but are not limited to, architecture, urban design, technology, engineering, real estate, and social sciences. Studies related to the built environment are also welcome.
We welcome original research articles and review papers on theoretical developments, computational modeling, spatial analysis, empirical studies, simulation-based approaches, user behavior analysis, and practical design applications in sustainable buildings and urban environments. Research findings that make new contributions to the body of knowledge on space syntax and user-friendly design approaches in sustainable buildings and urban design are particularly encouraged.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. Buildings is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
