Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
The issue is addressed to researchers working in robotics, as well as neurodynamics, to focus on advanced results in biorobotics. The topics will cover both mechanical systems for biorobotics and the electronics devices focalized to the control of the systems. The aim of the issue is also to discuss the main aspects of bio-inspired micro and nanorobotics. The main features of bio-inspired systems will be founded on both locomotion paradigms and aspects related to sensing and perception. The issue is also addressed to researchers working in the specific area of biosystems. Advanced perspectives of new ideas arising from living systems will be subject of the issue. The aims will also cover biorobots inspired by plants, not only covering animal locomotion and perception but also strongly covering the conception of robots based on plant behaviour. The cooperative behaviour of robots inspired by organisms in nature is also a topic of the possible papers. Therefore, the social behaviour of complex networks of robots is of interest in the SI. The SI is also addressed to particular applications both in the areas of industrial plants and service robots for rehabilitation and medical applications. The SI aims to create a forum of various skills in the area of biorobotics, conceive new systems, bring together scientists of various disciplines to propose new projects and form an open consortium of interdisciplinary disciplines in biorobotics. The issue will also cover ethical aspects of biorobotics such as its sustainability and green technology related to energy saving.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Biomimetics is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2200 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
