Consumer Insights and Market Trends in the Global Wine Industry

This special issue belongs to the section “Wine, Spirits and Oenological Products“.

Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Alcohol consumption, globally, has declined over recent years in many countries. Not surprisingly, this is mirrored by a global decline in wine consumption, especially since 2017. This is a particularly challenging time for wine producers and marketers.

This special issue aims to build knowledge relating to consumer insights and market trends to assist the global wine industry with facing these challenging times. In particular, we are seeking papers which examine consumer insights and/or market trends and offer recommendations from these examinations for the industry on how it can grow wine consumption. This may include growth in specific markets, growth in new or existing consumer segments, or growth in terms of specific wine categories.

Authors may wish to focus on topics such as consumer behaviour insights, the use of digital marketing strategies (e.g. the use of social media, consumer profiling, AI, and data-driven decision-making), current trends and future directions; but this Special Issue will consider a wider range of topics which are generally related to consumer insights and/or market trends from any geographical area.
