Dear Colleagues,
Sexual violence remains a pervasive public health and social justice concern with far-reaching consequences for individuals and communities. This Special Issue, Sexual Violence: Risk, Revictimization, and Resilience, brings together interdisciplinary scholarship that advances understanding of the factors that increase vulnerability to sexual victimization and perpetration, the complex dynamics that contribute to revictimization across the lifespan, and the pathways through which survivors demonstrate resilience and recovery. Contributions explore sociocultural, psychological, developmental, and structural dimensions of risk, while also highlighting trauma-responsive prevention strategies, survivor-centered responses, and strengths-based perspectives. By integrating empirical research, theoretical grounding, and applied insights, this issue aims to inform policy, practice, and future research that more effectively addresses sexual violence and supports survivor well-being.

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. Behavioral Sciences is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
