Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Social interaction is a fundamental feature of working life, influencing employees’ sense of belonging, access to social support, and ability to cope with work demands. From everyday exchanges among colleagues to formal team collaboration, both the quality and frequency of workplace social interactions have significant implications for psychological and physical health outcomes, including stress, burnout, and overall well-being.

This Special Issue aims to advance research at the intersection of social psychology and occupational health psychology by examining how social interaction unfolds across diverse work contexts and how these processes shape employee health and well-being. We welcome empirical studies, theoretical reviews, and intervention research submissions that investigate (1) the mechanisms through which workplace social interaction influences employee health and well-being; (2) the protective and risk factors that moderate these relationships; and (3) evidence-based strategies for designing healthy work systems, including the opportunities and challenges associated with emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence. By integrating theoretical perspectives and empirical evidence from social psychology, organizational behavior, and occupational health psychology, this collection seeks to advance both scientific understanding and practical approaches to fostering supportive and health-promoting workplace relationships.
