Dear Colleagues,
This Special Issue of Behavioral Sciences, ‘Analytical Psychology—Contemporary Perspectives’, focuses on developments in analytical psychology within the framework of basic and clinical research. It aims to encourage dialog between Jungian theory, psychotherapeutic practice, and empirical psychological disciplines, including psychotherapy process and outcome research, as well as cognitive neuroscience.
We invite original empirical studies, including clinical case studies, qualitative research, theoretical contributions, and systematic reviews. The scope of the Special Issue includes symbolization processes, archetypal imagery, transference and countertransference, dreams, consciousness, and the unconscious. We especially welcome research on mechanisms of psychotherapeutic change, such as affect transformation, the development of ego functions, and changes in agency during treatment.
Interdisciplinary and cross-cultural approaches linking clinical findings with experimental and neurobiological methods are of special interest. Studies grounded in transparent methodology, standardized assessments, and reproducible designs are particularly encouraged. Contributions that operationalize key concepts of analytical psychology and critically examine them are also welcome.
The Special Issue remains open to new theoretical and methodological perspectives and to critical discussions that clarify the place of analytical psychology within the current scientific landscape.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. Behavioral Sciences is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
