Dear Colleagues,
Within the theoretical and clinical landscape of contemporary psychoanalysis, there is an increasingly heated debate regarding an ongoing transformation marked by a progressive broadening of perspective—if not of the paradigm itself—from a focus on the exclusively intrapsychic dimension to an ever-greater attention to inter- and transpsychic topics, dynamics, and economies. We have thus witnessed an extension of the field of psychoanalytic treatment, a broadening of its boundaries to address and accommodate in the analytic setting pathologies increasingly characterized, among other things, by unrepresented states of mind and deficits in symbolization. At the same time, this expansion led to the development of extended analytical settings, such as group work and psychoanalytic work with couples and families. This extension is based on a fundamental postulate, according to which the unconscious is not exclusively of psychosexual origin, nor is it entirely contained within the limits of the individual psychic apparatus, since it is jointly grounded in intersubjectivity. Considering the above, for this Special Issue we welcome all submissions—theoretical papers, as well as papers based on clinical materials and research papers—related to couple, family, and sibling relationships, including those from various theoretical–clinical psychoanalytic perspectives on these topics.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. Behavioral Sciences is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
