Dear Colleagues,
This Special Issue focuses on the latest technical advances in non-destructive testing (NDT) for civil infrastructure and engineering operational equipment. With the increasing complexity of modern engineering systems, conventional NDT methods face challenges in efficient defect identification, quantitative damage evaluation, and full-cycle condition tracking. Emerging digital twin technology provides a powerful supplementary paradigm for advanced NDT, enabling high-fidelity virtual modeling, real-time physical-virtual state mapping, dynamic scenario simulation, and data-driven intelligent diagnosis. This issue aims to collect high-quality original research and review articles that advance NDT theories, algorithms, and engineering applications. Relevant topics include digital knowledge modeling, multi-modal sensing and interaction, dynamic response simulation, intelligent fault recognition, and structural health monitoring enabled by digital twin. The ultimate goal is to promote the innovation, integration, and practical application of next-generation intelligent non-destructive testing technologies for various infrastructure and operational equipment.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. Applied Sciences is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
