Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
We are pleased to announce the launch of the Special Issue entitled “Advanced Technology in Information Security, Cybersecurity and Privacy” in the journal Applied Sciences. This Special Issue seeks to gather high-quality, original contributions that address a broad range of topics related to cybersecurity, information security, and privacy.
In today’s digital landscape, information security, data privacy, and cybersecurity are critical pillars for the effective management and resilience of organizations. They safeguard the confidentiality, integrity, availability, and privacy of one of the most vital assets: data. In the face of rising cyber threats, the ability to analyze and investigate digital artifacts has become essential for identifying the origins, motivations, and impacts of malicious activity.
To navigate the increasing complexity and volume of systems and data, organizations are leveraging a broad set of tools, techniques, and methodologies in cybersecurity and digital forensics. The effectiveness of these approaches plays a decisive role in protecting digital assets, enhancing infrastructure availability, and ensuring business continuity.
We invite researchers and practitioners to submit original articles, reviews, technical notes, case studies, and communications that present innovative advances in the field. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
- Cybersecurity compliance and auditing;
- Governance and regulatory frameworks in cybersecurity;
- Cybersecurity architectures and models;
- AI and machine learning applications in information security;
- Risk analysis and management;
- Data and information protection strategies;
- Data privacy strategies;
- Secure systems and infrastructure;
- Privacy-preserving technologies.

Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Applied Sciences is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
