Dear Colleagues,
Polyphenols are organic chemical compounds produced by plants that are known for their numerous beneficial properties and multifaceted effects on the human body. As effective free radical scavengers, they protect the body from oxidative stress, delaying the aging process. Thanks to their unique anti-inflammatory, anticancer, and cardioprotective properties, they play a key role in the prevention of lifestyle diseases such as atherosclerosis, type 2 diabetes, and hypertension. Currently, extensive research on the properties of polyphenolic compounds means that they are increasingly perceived as advanced signaling molecules controlling metabolism, cellular aging and immunity. A key aspect of this research is the development of effective methods for extracting these compounds from plant material, preserving the full health-promoting activity of the isolated molecules. We invite researchers to submit proposals for reviews or original scientific articles on the beneficial properties of polyphenolic compounds and effective methods for their isolation.
We look forward to your comments and support for a substantive discussion in this important area of research. Your participation and contributions are crucial to expanding knowledge and gaining new insights in this field.

Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. Applied Sciences is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
