Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

The properties of solid and liquid (liquid and gaseous) energy carriers and of operating fluids such as lubricating oils, hydraulic oils, and cooling fluids are typically defined by parameters contained in relevant standards. These parameters do not always correspond to the operational requirements of the relevant devices or systems, and measuring them requires appropriate equipment and sufficient time. It is particularly important to determine the operational suitability of stored fuels and operating fluids operating in specific devices and closed systems. Equally important is the establishment of methods for assessing their suitability, such as methods for rapidly characterizing changes in the properties of fuels and operating fluids, for determining the continued use of a given fuel in a given device after a specified period of storage under specific conditions, or for assessing the suitability of an operating fluid operating in a closed system. Determining the correlation between the quality parameters contained in standards for fuels and operating fluids and the actual requirements of specific devices and machines is also crucial. The proposed Special Issue of "Contemporary Methods for Assessing the Operational Suitability of Energy Carriers and Operating Fluids" is dedicated to exploring these solutions and presenting research results in this field.

Manuscript Submission Information

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. Applied Sciences is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
