Antimicrobial Materials and Surfaces

Welcome to the Section Antimicrobial Materials and Surfaces. This Section aims to cover and publish papers on all aspects related to the synthesis, characterization, and application of novel materials with antimicrobial properties. This Section includes but is not limited to the synthesis and characterization of materials for the delivery of antimicrobial agents, their biological applications, the simultaneous delivery of different antimicrobials, and the validation of novel protocols for antimicrobial adsorption and release from different surfaces.

Applications or potential ones for the treatment of bacterial infections, ulcers, or other diseases, as well as the development of different systems for active food packaging are very welcomed.

Moreover, the Section welcomes reports on synergistic treatments, through the simultaneous delivery of two or more antimicrobic agents or antimicrobics and active species by ad hoc obtained material.
