Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Viruses can cause a wide variety of diseases in cats (felines) and dogs (canines). The One Health model recommends intensifying our efforts in the study of animal pathogens to improve and ensure animal health and welfare, while also considering the potential zoonotic implications. In recent years, the use of molecular assays and metagenomic approaches has led to the identification of several new and/or re-emerging viruses in both cats and dogs. Our aim for this Special Issue is to publish original research papers, communications, case studies, and review articles associated with the latest advances in canine and feline viruses. Manuscripts may focus on, but are not limited to, the following subjects:

  • The identification and characterization of novel pathogens.
  • Novel and/or updated diagnostic methods and control strategies for feline and canine viruses.
  • Novel vaccines and therapeutics for emerging viral diseases.

We look forward to receiving your contributions.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process.
