Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Precision environmental technology solutions are essential for enabling the transition towards a sustainable and resilient circular economy. This approach combines advanced sensing technologies, digital monitoring systems, and data analytics to optimize resource efficiency and reduce environmental pressures. By providing real-time, high-resolution data, these solutions support evidence-based decision-making across complex value chains. They enable the precise management of material and energy flows, contributing to waste reduction, emissions mitigation, and improved circularity. The integration of digital tools enhances system transparency and traceability, strengthening stakeholder trust and regulatory compliance. These technologies facilitate the reuse, recycling, and recovery of resources by improving process control and operational performance. The approach is scalable and adaptable across sectors such as industry, energy, and waste management. By aligning technological innovation with EU sustainability objectives, the solutions contribute to climate neutrality and long-term environmental resilience. The project supports the implementation of circular economy principles through measurable, impact-driven outcomes.

This Special Issue welcomes original research and review articles focusing on the development and application of integrated precision technologies for sustainable agro-environmental management. Contributions addressing environmental monitoring, data-driven decision support, resource-efficient agricultural practices, and digital solutions supporting climate-smart and circular agri-food systems are particularly encouraged.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Agriculture is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2600 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
