Prof. Dr. Ming-Liang Tong Appointed Associate Editor of Magnetochemistry

We would like to extend a warm welcome to our new Associate Editor Prof. Dr. Ming-Liang Tong, who has taken over the editorial leadership of Magnetochemistry (ISSN: 2312-7481), starting from 29 February 2024.

Prof. Dr. Ming-Liang Tong is a full professor at the School of Chemistry, Sun Yat-sen University, China, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry, and a Director of the Key Laboratory of Bioinorganic and Synthetic Chemistry of the Ministry of Education. He was awarded the National Distinguished Young Scholars Fund in 2005 and granted the Special Allowance by the State Council of China in 2006. He was a former council member of the Chinese Chemical Society (2015–2018) and is currently serving as a member of the International Advisory Committee of the International Conference on Molecular Magnetism, director of the Crystallographic Society of China, deputy director of the Rare Earth Molecular Materials and Supramolecular Devices Professional Committee of the Chinese Society of Rare Earths, and committee member of the Crystallography Professional Committee of the Chinese Chemical Society. He also co-chaired the 18th International Conference on Molecular Magnets.

Prof. Dr. Ming-Liang Tong is engaged primarily in research on coordination chemistry and molecular magnetism, with over 350 papers published in peer-reviewed journals. He has received the National Excellent Doctoral Dissertation Award, the Second Prize of the National Natural Science Award (as the second author), the First Prize of Science and Technology in Guangdong Province, the “Outstanding Lecture Award” from the Chemical Society of Japan (2012), and the Lu Jiaxi Outstanding Supervisor Award (2017).
