Microorganisms (ISSN 2076-2607) Accepted for Coverage in the Science Citation Index Expanded (Web of Science)

We are pleased to announce that Microorganisms (ISSN 2076-2607) has been accepted for inclusion in the Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE), as well as BIOSIS Previews and Biological Abstracts. The coverage will be starting from Volume 4 (2016). The journal is due to receive its first Journal Impact Factor in next year's release of the Journal Citation Reports.

Microorganisms (ISSN 2076-2607) is an international, peer-reviewed open access journal which provides an advanced forum for studies related to prokaryotic and eukaryotic microorganisms, viruses and prions.

Prof. Dr. Martin von Bergen (Department of Molecular Systems Biology, Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research–UFZ, Leipzig, Germany) is acting as Editor-in-Chief of the journal, with Dr. Nico Jehmlich (also at UFZ) serving as Section Editor-in-Chief for the Section "Environmental Microbiology" and Prof. Dr. Roger Pickup (Lancaster University, UK) and Prof. Dr. Giuseppe Comi (University of Udine, Italy) serving as Associate Editors for the journal. Microorganisms was founded by Prof. Dr. John Fuerst from the University of Queensland, Brisbane, Australia. 250 articles have been published since the inception of the journal in 2013.

The Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE), Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI), Web of ScienceTM, BIOSIS Previews and Biological Abstracts are Clarivate Analytics products.
