Fossil Studies 2024 Palaeontology Research Grant—Winner Announced

Editors select a small number of articles recently published in the journal that they believe will be particularly interesting to readers, or important in the respective research area. The aim is to provide a snapshot of some of the most exciting work published in the various research areas of the journal.

We are pleased to announce the winner of the Fossil Studies 2024 Palaeontology Research Grant, and the award has been granted to Dr. Arturo Miguel Heredia, from the Instituto de Investigación en Paleobiología y Geología (IIPG), CONICET-Universidad Nacional de Río Negro, Río Negro, Argentina, for his research on the palaeobiological and preservation implications of sauropod dinosaur footprints with preserved skin-slide traces.
Dr. Heredia will receive an honorarium of CHF 500, an electronic certificate, and the opportunity to publish his work free of charge in Fossil Studies (ISSN: 2813-6284).
The selection process for the Palaeontology Research Grant was exceptionally competitive due to the outstanding quality and diversity of proposals submitted. We extend our sincere gratitude to all applicants for their contributions and to the evaluation committee for their diligent work in selecting this year’s winner. Since the response from the palaeontological community has been remarkably positive, Fossil Studies will provide research grants again next year.
