Abstract

The Scientific Association of Academic Researchers (ASCA) and Software Engineering & Information Systems Engineering Team (GL-ISI) organized, in collaboration with Moulay Ismail University, the 3rd International Day on Computer Science and Applied Mathematics (ICSAM’23) on May 13, 2023, in the Faculty of Sciences and Technology of Errachidia.

1. Introduction

ICSAM’23 is an ideal forum for different researchers to present excellent results and new challenges facing the field of computer science and applied mathematics. ICSAM’23 reached its 3rd edition and was held at the Faculty of Sciences and Techniques in the city of Errachidia, the capital of the Daraa-Tafilalet region located in the south-west of Morocco. Conference subjects were split into eight sections:
  • Software engineering;
  • Artificial intelligence;
  • Big data analytics;
  • Natural language processing;
  • Blockchain Internet of Things (IoT);
  • Cloud computing;
  • Computer vision;
  • Image processing;
  • Modelling and simulation;
  • Scientific computing and algorithms;
  • Numbers, combinatorics, codes, and cryptography;
  • Systems theory, optimization, and optimal control;
  • Numerical analysis and scientific;
  • Applications to the sciences.
During this edition, we attended two keynote talks, the first in the field of artificial intelligence presented by Prof. Mohamed Boutahar from Aix Marseille University, France. The second concerns the field of mathematics, more particularly the theme of graph theory, presented by Prof. Moha Hajar from Moulay Ismail University, Morocco. The two keynote talks were scheduled for 1 hour each and 30 minutes for a question session. Then, there were two parallel sessions for the presentation of the various accepted articles. The invited talks were scheduled for 15 min each, followed by 5 min for questions.
All submissions were processed entirely online using the Microsoft CMI platform. The procedure for processing includes the submission of manuscripts, preliminary checks of format and template by the event organizers, full peer review by international and national reviewers, submission of revised versions by authors, and final checks and acceptance by reviewers and event chairs. Additional checks for compliance with MDPI standards, including plagiarism checks, have been performed by the editors of Computer Sciences & Mathematics Forum, published by MDPI. Nine out of fourteen accepted and presented submissions were published in Computer Sciences & Mathematics Forum.
